ADC – Summer 2006 – Motoring Section – Take my advice use sunscreen

Those who have been privy to previous posts and Expatograms will be aware of our perception of UAE driving skills.

An essential appliance for motoring in the Gulf is the windscreen sunshield. Especially useful when driving, as you can block out sun and glare on the passenger side of the windscreen (and most of the driver’s side) as you use your mobile phone whilst travelling at 90 mph.

Better still – you know the black mesh sunscreens that have rubber suckers (no, not that sort !) which stick to the window to protect babies and children ? Well, why not put one across the whole windscreen ? Even though you may not be able to see the road you sure as hell won’t get sunstroke.

I’ve witnessed both of these this year !!
