Another part of the Winter Sports fest was the Abu Dhabi F1 Festival which saw top F1 drivers parade (and “donut”) their cars along the same rubber coated streets as the Emirati football fans. The significant point of this is that the omnipotent Bernie Ecclestone has granted and guaranteed Abu Dhabi the permission to stage a F1 Grand Prix in 2009. http://www.ameinfo.com/109577.html . The fact that the track and its infrastructure has not been built yet is mere bagatelle. If Dubai can do it so can Abu Dhabi.
